question.
Only parts of the jarrah, wandoo and marri forests are
habitats for numbats, most of which are in reserves or other areas that are
excluded from timber harvesting. In each harvest area, assessments are
undertaken to identify the likelihood of a particular species of fauna, including
numbats, being present, and to determine appropriate management requirements.
However, data on the area of forest available for harvest that provides
habitats for numbats is not available at short notice.
