I refer to the Treasurer’s Advance Authorisation and provisions made in the Western Australia Police budget and I ask:
(a) how is the figure of $683,000 fleet savings arrived at;
(b) what amount of that figure comprises disposal of vehicles;
(c) what amount is a calculation of savings in future running costs;
(d) what amount relates to any administrative decision that fewer persons are entitled to vehicles;
(e) what portion of these savings relates to marked cars;
(f) what amount relates to unmarked cars; and
(g) what impact, if any, will this have on the resources available to operational police officers?

(a-f) The figure of $683,000 fleet savings has been arrived at by the Department of Treasury and Finance - State Fleet, as part of the Government vehicle fleet reduction strategy of 10% over three years.
(g) Western Australia Police are implementing changes to its vehicle fleet with the objective of minimising the impact on general policing services.
