On behalf of the Minister for Emergency Services, I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The State
Emergency Management Committee traffic management guidelines were endorsed by
its response subcommittee out of session on 15 September 2015 and noted by the
SEMC on 6 October 2015. A renewed guideline reflecting a new document format
and style adopted by the SEMC came into effect on 24 May 2016. The new
guideline content, apart from statement of fact changes, remains intact.
(2) The SEMC
approved the renewed traffic management emergencies guideline on 10 May 2016,
with an effective date of 24 May 2016.
(3) The
minister has not been specifically briefed on this document, although he is
briefed on SEMC business and outcomes after each meeting.
(4) Statement
of fact amendments have been made to align the guideline to the new document
format and style, and to ensure proper alignment with the state emergency
management policy and state emergency management plan.
