1144. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
(1) How many
times and on what dates since 1 January 2015 has Peel Health Campus not been
able to provide admitted patient care because no inpatient beds were available
at the time a patient presented at the emergency department?
(2) On each occasion, for how long were inpatient beds
unavailable?
(3) What factors caused the unavailability of inpatient beds?

question.
(1) Peel Health
Campus authorised ambulance diversion on one occasion from 5.00 pm on 3 August
2015 to 8.00 am on 4 August 2015.
(2) The diversion was in place for approximately 15 hours.
(3) The
diversion was authorised in response to unprecedented and unpredicted sick
leave by medical staff.
