(1) Based on advice from RiskCover, 16 mobile phones were reported stolen for the six months to 31 December 2007.
(2) Based on replacement value, the value of the telephones reported stolen was $6073.11.
(3) Yes.
(4) Claims procedures require employees to report stolen items to police at the earliest practical opportunity upon the discovery of the theft.
(5) Based on the information available, it can be concluded that none of the stolen telephones has been recovered.
(6) The Department of Education and Training is not aware of any instance where a stolen telephone has not been reported to the police.
(7-8) All Department employees are aware that they must comply with government policy on the management of assets and other property within their possession and control
