The Strategic Crime Prevention Division manages policy and interagency coordination at a state-wide level. A range of other crime prevention projects and activities are undertaken at agency and local levels by State Departments, local Government, and non-Government agencies.
(1) Apart from WA Police, the Crime Prevention Council (the Council) comprises of:
· Department for Communities
· Department of Corrective Services
· Department of Child Protection
· Department of Health
· Department of Education
· Department of the Attorney General
· Department of Sport and Recreation
· Department of Indigenous Affairs
· Department of Housing
· Drug and Alcohol Office
· WA Local Government Association
The Council is supported by the Crime Prevention Coordination Response Group representing the above agencies, plus the Department of Premier and Cabinet, and the Public Transport Authority. Membership of both groups is flexible to the issues under consideration.
(2) The Council and Crime Prevention Coordination Response Group have quarterly meetings; however meetings may be convened at other times as required.
(3) The Council and the Crime Prevention Coordination Response Group were formed in July 2011.
They have so far overseen:
· Development of the
State Community Crime Prevention Plan 2011-14
;
· the Council Terms of Reference and Business Rules; and
· a review of current governance arrangements in Western Australia.

Terms of Reference and Business rules will be considered/ endorsed at the next scheduled Council meeting, February 2012.
