HOUSING DIVERSITY PIPELINE
1045. Hon STEVE MARTIN to the minister representing the
Minister for Lands:
I
refer to round 2 of the housing diversity pipeline, nearly three weeks into its
eight-week expression of interest timeline.
(1) I note the
documentation states that the state will not provide any confirmation or
opinion as to whether any land fits within the scope or requirements of the
request. Why not?
(2) How many expressions of interest
have been lodged to date?
(3) Has the state
government done an assessment of all the land it holds, which is both zoned
residential and not impacted by significant constraints, that prevents it being
developed in the short term?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Lands.
(1)–(2) The
expansion of the housing diversity pipeline seeks proposals from proponents
through the expression of interest process
to develop state-owned land to deliver additional housing supply. Further
announcements will be made in due course.
(3) The urban growth monitor is prepared annually on
behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission and reports on land
that is zoned for urban development.
