(1) The Town of Newman is located within a Water Corporation Operating Licence area, the water supply standards applicable are as set out in the Corporation's Operating Licence and Customer Charter. The levels of service for water supplies such as minimum pressure and minimum flow, installation of services and interruption to supply are specified in these documents, and monitored by the Economic Regulation Authority.
(2) A standard 25mm water service and a 100mm fire service are provided to the Newman Day Care facility. These services are provided from the Water Corporation's 100mm water main located at the front of the property adjacent to Newman Drive.
(3) The Water Corporation is unable to comment on safety standards for Day Care facilities. The services provided to the facility meet the requirements of the Water Corporation's Operating Licence and the health requirements specified in the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) 1997. Under the ADWG, health-related sampling occurs weekly in Newman and analysis indicate that samples are within the Guidelines.
