(1) As at 17 June 2009 there were six lights awaiting repair.
(2) There are over 160 lights, including lights controlled by City of Perth in the public areas and down lights fixed to the external face of the Library, Art Gallery and Museum buildings.
(3) The City of Perth has three security cameras.
(4) The WA Planning Commission's 2006 report,
Designing Out Crime: Planning Guidelines
(page 32) states: "On average around 40 per cent of night time crime occurs when lighting is at 5 lux or below". The Perth Cultural Centre's lighting level is similar to that delivered by street lighting, which is approximately 50 lux.
(5) Western Power or its contractors are not responsible for lighting in the Cultural Centre and therefore do not inspect the lighting.
