Further to question
on notice 48 asked by the member for Kalamunda regarding convictions under the
new retail crime laws that commence on 1 July 2024, I ask the following.
(1) How many individuals currently have pending
charges before the courts under the new provisions for assaults on retail
workers?
(2) Of those individuals awaiting trial, how many
are currently remanded in custody?
