(1) Does the minister support the continued operation of the Gravity Discovery Centre? (2) Does the minister concede that without state government funding the Gravity Discovery Centre is at risk of closure and staff are at risk of job loss? I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes, subject to an independent assessment to be completed on its management, operations and financial sustainability. (2) Without external funding, it is at risk of closure and staff would be at risk of job loss. (3) The minister has provided emergency funding of $35 000 for it to remain open until 30 June 2010, while a more permanent funding solution is found to make the Gravity Discovery Centre self-sufficient through viable alternative funding options.
