In relation to the Spring Street main drain being relocated for the waterfront project, I ask:
(a) is funding included for these works in the total $440 million budget;
(b) how much is allocated for these works and who has been awarded the tender; and
(c) do the works include an addition to the treatment system to clean the pollutants from the water before putting it in the river next to the proposed inlet and, if not, why not?

(a) Yes.
(b) The Georgiou Group Pty Ltd has been awarded the External Roadworks, Major Services and Ancillary Works contract totalling $50million which includes the relocation of the Mounts Bay Road Main Drain.
(c) The current Mounts Bay Road Main Drain does not have any treatment systems in the area of the Elizabeth Quay project. Where possible the existing City of Perth drainage system, being revised as part of the External Roadworks, Major Services and Ancillary Works contract will incorporate Gross Pollutant Devices to improve the water quality prior to the water entering the drain.
The Elizabeth Quay project has its own stormwater system which does not use the Mounts Bay Road Main Drain. This system includes Gross Pollutant Traps and other water sensitive design elements to improve the water quality discharging into the Swan River.
Additional Information
This response assumes that the question in fact relates to the
Mounts Bay Road Main Drain not the Spring Street Main.
