MEMBER FOR
VASSE — ROAD TRAFFIC INCIDENT — RISKCOVER CLAIM
818. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the minister representing the Treasurer:
I refer to the member for Vasse's
withdrawal of his RiskCover claim for damage sustained by numerous vehicles
over the night of 22–23 February 2014.
(1) What is the
total cost for which Mr Buswell is liable in relation to Holden Caprice,
registration number 1DXJ315?
(2) Has Mr Buswell paid this amount
to RiskCover; and, if so, on what date was payment received?
(3) What is the
individual cost of repairs and other expenses for each of the other vehicles
damaged on the night of 22–23 February 2014?
(4) Has Mr Buswell paid these costs;
and, if so, on what date or dates were payments made?
(5) What has been
the total cost of all legal advice obtained by the Insurance Commission of WA
and RiskCover about this matter?

I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1) The cost is $15 200.49.
(2) No. RiskCover has requested that payment be made by 2
September 2014.
(3) There was
only one third party claim, which RiskCover was managing prior to Mr Buswell
withdrawing his claim. As the details of this particular claim are in the
public domain, RiskCover can confirm that this vehicle was classed as a
write-off with a payout value of $3 321, with an additional $150 incurred by
RiskCover in assessing fees. The individual cost of repairs and other expenses
for other vehicles cannot be answered by RiskCover.
(4) The member for Vasse advises no.
(5) Nil.
