(1)–(2)
I do not know about anybody being kicked out, as the member put it. I doubt
very much whether anybody has actually felt the force of anybody's foot
on them, which would equate to being ''kicked out'' of anywhere.
I think the member is making wild assertions, assuming that people have been
kicked anywhere by anybody, especially by the very good folk who provide
services at Rockingham General Hospital. I happen to have been down there a
number of times; I know many of the consultants and service managers who work
at Rockingham hospital, and I have to say that they are some of the top
psychiatrists operating in Western Australia. The member assumes that somehow
or other people are being kicked out. There are a variety of programs operating
whereby people who are undertaking some rehabilitation program attend
community-based facilities during the day as part of their reintegration into
the community. If the member is somehow insinuating that that means they are
being kicked out of a mental health facility, she has no understanding of
rehabilitation or reintegration of people from a mental health facility back
into the community. It is part and parcel of that program.
