(a) - (b) Actions taken by the South West Development Commission to develop and broaden the economic base of the region include:
2012 - 13:
· Implemented Manjimup SuperTowns Economic Development Strategy; Surfers Point redeveloped, implemented South West Events Scheme, funded first stage of the Margaret River Perimeter Road and facilitated funding of initial design of Preston River to allow expansion of Bunbury Port.
· The Culinary Journeys of Western Australia food and wine promotion in Jakarta.
· The Bunbury-Jiaxing Business Office was supported to assist trade and inbound investment opportunities.
· The movie Drift premiered in the region and theatrically released in Australia with associated tourism literature.
· The inaugural Emergence Creative Festival was held in Margaret River to showcase creative industry opportunities.
· The South West Workforce Development Plan 2013-2016 was released.
· A plan to guide efforts to strengthen the region's tourism industry was released.
· A Critical Horizons seminar explored the future of ecotourism in the region.
· Contributed to the City of Bunbury Creative lighting project.
· Completed construction of the Bunbury free WiFi service.
· Hosted three inbound trade delegations.
