I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes. (2) The East Perth Redevelopment Authority evaluated the National Trust’s previous proposal for the site. Consultation with it took place on that basis. The review identified a deficit that the National Trust has since acknowledged. The National Trust has also advised the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure that it will be satisfied if proper conservation and interpretation practices are put in place leading to retention of the building, despite the fact that it may not be directly involved with the conservation and management of the site. Alternative future uses are yet to be agreed; however, it is intended to engage with the National Trust once a decision has been made. (3) Not applicable. (4) No heritage agreements currently apply to the site. (5) Western Power Corporation, as the current owner, has not prepared or entered into a heritage agreement. It is envisaged that one will be prepared before any development takes place. (6) Not applicable.
