1106. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the Leader of the House

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1)–(2)
A range of government agencies and bodies play a role in bushfire mitigation
activities on behalf of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage across
the 955 547 square kilometres of unallocated crown land in the state, current
as at July 2022.
(3) Given the
extent of crown land across the state, bushfire mitigation activities are
concentrated in areas of high risk. We are
unable to comment on state budget allocations across the various agencies that
play a role in bushfire mitigation. For this financial year, $4.1 million
was allocated to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage for bushfire
mitigation on crown land in response to high risk areas.
