ELECTRICITY PRICE INCREASES
453. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. I again ask the Treasurer:
what is the cost of the commitment to keep energy prices at inflation across
the forward estimates?

AnswerView source ↗

I think I have outlined that. The facts are that we will deal
with energy prices during the budget cycle, as we have always done.
Mr B.S. Wyatt : So
you are saying that it will not be in the midyear review.
Mr
T.R. BUSWELL : Listen to this: last year it was 3.5 per cent and the year
before it was 5.5 per cent.
Mr
B.S. Wyatt : No, you are not believable. Unbelievable! Utterly unbelievable.
Mr T.R. BUSWELL : LaborXXX ###XXXs plan is an 18 per cent increase in energy
prices over three years.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : I
have not given you the call, member for Wanneroo. Member for Pilbara, I
formally call you to order for the first time today.
