LOCAL GOVERNMENT —
MYCOUNCIL WEBSITE
23. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Local Government:
I refer the minister to the
Department of Local Government's MyCouncil website, which describes
itself as an initiative of the state government to strengthen local government
accountability and performance.
(1) When was the data relating to
individual local governments last updated on the site?
(2) If, as it appears, little has
been added since 2021, why, and when can we expect to see an update?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Local Government.
(1) It was done in September 2022.
(2) The Cook
government is currently undertaking the most substantial reforms to the system
of local government in Western Australia for more than 25 years. As a result of
the reforms, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
is undertaking a full review of how data is collected and displayed on the
MyCouncil website. DLGSC will continue to publish updates on the progress of
the reforms as this work progresses.
