BHP
BILLITON AND RIO TINTO — LEASE FEE
902. Mr B.S. WYATT to the
Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. I ask again —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : A lot
of people are interjecting. Do you want me to call everybody en masse?
Mr B.S. WYATT : Are
there any circumstances in which the Treasurer will support the increase of the
lease fee?

As the member said, it is not our policy to change the
royalty arrangements or the user charges. In fact, we are not going to do what
the member for Victoria Park proposes, which is to increase the tax on the
family home. He has gone out and proposed a broad-based land tax on the family
home. We are not going to do that either.
