LAVERTON HOSPITAL
1426. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Finance:
I refer to the status of the
long-delayed Laverton Hospital redevelopment and question without notice 1371
asked on 8 November.
(1) Noting the
comments from the Premier on ABC radio today that the project has been unable
to attract a compliant tender, can the
minister please outline how the single tender received by the government was noncompliant?
(2) Was the
contract price for the single tender submission higher than the $23.5 million
budgeted for this project; and, if so, by how much?
(3) When will the request for
information process open and how long is it expected to run?
(4) Will the Laverton Hospital
redevelopment be completed ahead of the 2025 state election?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The
respondent proposed a form of contract and construction methodology that did
not align with the tender documentation.
(2) Given there
was only one tenderer, it is not considered appropriate to disclose the amount
to protect the commercial interests of the tendering party.
(3) The request
for information was released on Tenders WA on 31 October 2023 and closed on 8 November
2023.
(4) An expected construction
completion date is yet to be determined.
