I refer to the last variation process of the Productivity Places Program (PPP) for Private Registered Training Organisations (RTO), and I ask -
(1) Why were only 10 positions allocated to each RTO?
(2) Are any RTOs being monitored as a result of them making their courses shorter, in order to be able to make further application for another 10 positions, thereby possibly putting their trainees at risk, of not being properly skilled?

(1) Registered training organisations were allocated up to ten places per qualification to allow the Department to respond to as broad a range of requests for additional places as possible.
(2) The Department is monitoring registered training organisations delivering training through the Productivity Places Program and has investigated a number of registered training organisations where concerns have been raised regarding the time taken to deliver the contracted training.
