(3) Was the Perth Hills district headquarters site removed from the Conservation Park; and
(a) if yes, when and why was it removed?
(4) Was this site shown as State forest on the Department for Environment and Conservation (DEC) maps at the time; and
(a) if yes, was DEC aware that in the public consultation the Water Corporation described the site as private property and not State forest?
(5) Did the Mundaring Loop trail pass through this site and why was the trail closed?
(6) Is it correct that the National Park Centre had listed the site as one of the attractions in the area?

(2) Building construction commenced in January 2011. HAS Earthmoving and Thomas & Coffey are the main contractors.

(4) The new DEC office and depot are being constructed on a new Crown reserve vested in the Conservation and Land Management (CALM) Executive Body. The new reserve has been created predominately from former Executive Director of CALM freehold land and a portion of closed road reserve. A minor portion of former State forest has been included in the new reserve to allow for a safe shared entrance to the MWTP and the DEC site.

(5) Yes. The trail was closed in May 2008 because of safety risks to riders. The western section of the loop, for example, used existing tracks and firebreaks which were also used by four wheel drive vehicles. New mountain bike facilities have been established between the Mundaring Weir and Kalamunda to meet community demand.
(6) Yes, the Perth Hills National Parks Centre promoted the Mundaring Loop Mountain Bike Trail when it was open as part of its general promotion of recreation facilities in the Perth hills.
