NICHELIVING —
HOME INDEMNITY INSURANCE
776. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Will the Premier or the Minister for Commerce commit to sitting down and
meeting these Nicheliving customers who are now in discussion with the former
Premier Brian Burke?

AnswerView source ↗

I do not know which customers have
been in touch with the former Premier Brian Burke. It is of no concern to me
who they contact. They are members of the community and they can do what they
like. My government has been meeting with Nicheliving customers all along,
which is why they were so effusive in their praise of us for bringing about a resolution
to this.
To refresh the memory of those
opposite, I quote from a number of these customers who have been in touch with
us. They have said to us —
''I would like to express
my sincere thanks for your recent update regarding our home build with
Nicheliving. The resolution reached by the Cook Government brings much relief
to my family and me. We are deeply grateful for the efforts made to ensure we
can now access our Home Indemnity Insurance and move forward with our build.
In those words alone, I think you
have the essence of what we are trying to do here, which is help these people
out, and I am really pleased that we have been able to move swiftly to bring
about this resolution.
