BURRUP PENINSULA — DEVELOPMENT
I ask a supplementary question. I refer to the Premier’s comments made in this house in March 2006 when he stated — The government should forget other areas of the Burrup Peninsula where it proposes — Point of Order Mr R.F. JOHNSON : Mr Speaker, supplementary questions have to be very succinctly directed, and not with any preamble at all. The SPEAKER : About a week ago in the house I gave some directions on supplementary questions. I appreciate that the member has come from another place where maybe that sort of supplementary question is acceptable. I issue the member for North West with a final warning. I will let him ask a question and not read a statement. Questions without Notice Resumed Mr V. CATANIA : Would the Premier encourage the compulsory acquisition of the additional land on the Burrup Peninsula to secure future developments? Mr C.J. BARNETT

The land on the Burrup Peninsula is basically either conservation estate reserve or already state-owned land that is leased out. That takes up basically 100 per cent of the Burrup Peninsula.
