Greyhound racing—Betting tax
1064. Hon Jess Beckerling to the minister representing
the Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I refer to the
answer provided to my question on notice 597, together with the answer provided
to former MLC Hon Alison Xamon's question on notice 3392 asked in the 40th Parliament.
(1) Why is the
government no longer able to provide the data requested, despite having provided
it previously?
(2) Can the minister please provide details of the
wagering tax for the WA TAB attributable to the greyhound code for the last
five years?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following
answer on behalf of the minister representing the Minister for Racing and
Gaming. This answer was correct as at Tuesday 11 November.
(1) Question on notice 597 was asked of the
Minister for Finance in relation to RevenueWA collecting betting tax on
greyhound racing. Although RevenueWA does not receive a breakdown per racing
code, the Minister for Racing and Gaming can provide the figure paid to
RevenueWA by Racing and Wagering Western Australia through the WA TAB.
(2) The answer to this question is provided in part
in tabular form, so I seek leave to have it incorporated into Hansard .
