131. Hon KATE DOUST to the minister
representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the reopening of the Elizabeth Quay water park on the
afternoon of Monday, 8 February 2016.
(1) What specific works were undertaken at
the water park on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, prior to the
reopening?
(2) What water testing was conducted on
Monday, 8 February and what were the results?
(3) Who authorised the water park to reopen
on Monday afternoon?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) From Friday,
5 February until Monday, 8 February 2016, maintenance occurred. In addition,
filter 5 was isolated, water was drained out and hypochlorite was added to the
filter prior to the water park reopening.
(2) Testing for
thermophilic amoeba, the heterotrophic plate count, Escherichia coli and
Pseudomonas aeruginosa was undertaken. Results showed no risk to public health.
(3) It was the
Department of Health.
