Minister for Education:
The department's annual report said 262 schools have
had the standard operating environment—SOE4—upgrade rolled out.
(1) How many schools to date have had the new hardware and
software rolled out?
(2) At what cost is this rollout?
(3) Will all schools be upgraded to this new operating system;
and, if yes, by when?
(4) How many schools have iPads?

question.
(1) There are 398 school sites currently using the standard
operating environment.
(2) Since the
SOE implementation commenced in 2003, the cost to implement and maintain the
SOE is estimated at $130 million.
(3) Further rollout of the SOE will be considered as part of
future budget processes.
