In relation to the waste water pumping station off Cumberland Rd Lower King, I ask: (a) what areas of Lower King will the pumping station service; (b) are there any plans for infill sewage of properties to be serviced by this pumping station, and if so what streets are they and what is the time frame for it; (c) what is the policy for connecting existing residential properties, and what is this reasoning for it; and (d) given the proximity of the pumping station to Oyster Harbour, what plans are in place in the event of any accident to prevent waste water from entering and contaminating Oyster Harbour?

(a) The pump station will service the catchment area as highlighted on the  map [see tabled paper no .......].
(b) There are no plans for infill sewerage of properties in the area to be  serviced by this pump station.
(c) Where a property is close enough to a new gravity sewer being installed, the Water Corporation encourages connection through the  provision of information and letters to the property owner. The aim is to  try and get property owners to connect and decommission their septics within five years of connection availability.
In relation to the extension of sewer services to existing properties in  general, the Water Corporation policy is that the proponent will be responsible for arranging and funding the design and construction of  the reticulation works required through a consulting engineer.  The  proponent will also be responsible for making the appropriate  Infrastructure Contributions (Headworks) for the level of service  required.  This is a long standing business practice of the  Water Corporation and applied consistently throughout the State.
(d) The pump station will be equipped with emergency storage that will  allow adequate response time for Water Corporation personnel to  attend to a failure before there is the possibility of any wastewater  overflows into Oyster Harbour.
