SCHOOLS — CLASS SIZES
374. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Minister for Education:
I have a supplementary question.
That was a very comprehensive response about the previous government. I want to know: what is the minister doing to help our
overworked teachers and to bring more teachers back into the system to
bring the average down?
The SPEAKER : That is about
two questions in one. Minister, I hope that does not encourage you to give too
lengthy an answer.

I will make it brief. I think I just
outlined the additional support that we have given our teachers—school
psychologists, education assistants et cetera. I have previously mentioned what
we are doing to try to attract teachers back to the profession.
