The Department of Corrective Services advises, as at 20 October 2014:
(a) 121 prisoners on remand awaiting a court appearance. In addition there were 32 sentenced prisoners awaiting a court appearance for other charges.
For clarification, the sentence status of a prisoner can't be both remand and sentenced at the same time. A sentenced prisoner may have an active remand warrant requiring a subsequent court appearance, however this will relate to a separate offence (i.e. the sentence status of the prisoner remains 'sentenced' while the matter is progressed).
Remand and sentenced prisoners awaiting a court appearance: Maximum - 17, Medium - 119, Minimum - 17
Remand prisoners awaiting a court appearance: Maximum - 13, Medium - 93, Minimum - 15
Sentenced prisoners awaiting a court appearance: Maximum - 4, Medium - 26, Minimum - 2
(b) Maximum - 0, Medium - 6, Minimum - 3
(c) Maximum - 15, Medium - 128, Minimum - 43
