(1) How many prison staff are employed in Western Australia? (Please provide details by prison).

(3) At what level are employees identified in the answer to (2), employed? (Please provide figures for each level).
(4) Are any of these employees interpreters of Aboriginal languages? (Please provide details on number of interpreters by prison).
(5) How many prisoners require interpreting services on a regular basis?
(6) How many prisoners require interpreting services on an ad hoc basis?

These services encourage applications from Aboriginal people and ensure that Aboriginal applicants receive advice and support through the recruitment and selection process. The Department has an Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2005 - 2010 which details strategies for recruiting and training Aboriginal people. This strategy is in the process being implemented by the Department.
