(2) 305 HCN staff are receiving benefits for which FBT exemptions are claimed. In 2005 the ATO confirmed that a structure inclusive of transactional public service functions would not impact the standing of the Metropolitan Health Service as a Hospital, and hence not impact the ability of HCN employees to access the FBT exemption. (3) All Area Health Service Chief Executives are employees of and are paid by the respective health services. (4) Five health service chief executives are receiving benefits for which FBT exemptions are claimed in accordance with an ATO ruling, which expressly provides for benefits provided to Area Chief Executives to be exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax. (5) 29 Health Reform Implementation Taskforce (HRIT) staff are paid by the Metropolitan Health Service Board as all are metropolitan health service employees. (6) See attached Table 1.
