What action does the Government propose to take in response to the decision by Skywest Airlines Pty Ltd to axe its air service to Laverton? Hon GRAHAM GIFFARD

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Government has obtained assurances from Skywest that it will not withdraw services from Laverton until other arrangements are put in place. The Government has recently announced that it is prepared to use its regulatory powers to provide stability and continuity to regional air services and this position will be under constant review to ensure that sustainable and viable air services are provided to regional communities in Western Australia. The Government expects another regular passenger transport service will be in place when Skywest terminates its service.
