Will the minister promise Western Australians
that under this government, meth use will no longer continue to rise so
dramatically?

Sorry, Speaker; I kind of missed
the start of the question. I assume that the member wants me to wave a wand and
promise her that there is not going to be any more crime in Western Australia.
We will continue to provide the police with
all the power and resources they need to very effectively tackle this crime in
particular—the introduction and distribution of methylamphetamine,
but also other illicit drugs in the state through which organised criminals
live off the pain and suffering of other Western Australians. It is
disgraceful. I am glad that we have such a professional and capable police
force. I am very happy to confirm that we will continue to provide it with all
the support it needs to do its job.
