CITY OF BELMONT — DEVELOPMENT AREA 6
IMPROVEMENT PLAN
1052. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to a unanimous decision of the Belmont council at its
ordinary council meeting of 23 August 2014 to ask for representation of
affected residents living in development area 6 on any steering committees or
working group that is established by the City of Belmont and the Western
Australian Planning Commission to implement the development area 6 improvement
plan.
(1) Would the
minister support the inclusion of community representatives on any WAPC
steering committee and/or working group that is set up to implement the
improvement plan?
(2) If no to (1), why not?

I thank the member for some notice of this question.
(1)–(2)
The Western Australian Planning Commission is yet to formally consider the
initiation of an improvement plan over development area 6. Should an improvement
plan be initiated, the City of Belmont will remain responsible for the
establishment of any working group set up to review the development area 6
vision previously approved by the city, and the composition of those groups.
