I refer to the 202 metre cruise, ferry Silja Europa, that has been converted into worker accommodation, and which is moored off Barrow Island, and ask: (a) what is the current situation for accommodation on Barrow Island; (b) is the accommodation on the ferry for 1,400 construction workers; (c) if no to (b), please clarify who it is for and how many; (d) if yes to (b), where were the workers accommodated prior to this; (e) why is the ferry needed in addition to the original expanded accommodation; (f) how long will the Silja Europa need to be utilised for accommodation; (g) when is it expected that the Silja Europa will depart Barrow waters; (h) how will sewerage, wastewater and bilge water be dealt with or removed from the site; and (i) what is the expected timeline for the final construction phase of the Chevron Gorgon project?

Department of State Development advises:
(a) The Gorgon construction workforce is accommodated on the island in purpose built accommodation facilities and on temporary accommodation facilities alongside the materials offloading facility.
(b)-(d) The ferry accommodates about 1,200 Gorgon construction workers, most of whom are new to the project, and has a support crew of about 200 marine, housekeeping and catering staff.
(e) The ferry is required by the Gorgon Joint Venture Partners to provide temporary accommodation and greater flexibility in managing the accommodation demands through the project's peak construction phase.
(f) The Silja Europa is approved for use at Barrow Island until 31 December 2015.
(g) On or before 31 December 2015.
(h) Sewage, wastewater and bilge water is transported to Henderson for appropriate disposal.
(h)-(i) The project is 90 per cent complete, plant start-up and first gas is planned for 2015, domestic gas to the mainland is required by 31 December 2015 and completion of the construction phase is scheduled for the second half of 2016.
