WITHERS, BUNBURY — REVITALISATION PROJECT
I refer to the Department of Housing’s Country New Living and Country Urban Renewal programs, which include as a project the revitalisation of Withers in Bunbury. (1) What is the current status of these programs and the Withers project? (2) When will the government commit funding for the much-needed revitalisation of Withers? Hon SIMON O’BRIEN

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question. (1)–(2) The Withers program was completed in the second half of 2008. Also, the Minister for Transport has been working with the local member for Bunbury, Hon John Castrilli, after he proactively approached the minister to discuss and develop further plans for Withers. This included meetings with local residents that resulted in issues related to long-term problem properties being resolved. The minister looks forward to continuing to work with the local member, Hon John Castrilli, to resolve issues and develop plans relating to this area in the future.
