WA Health does not use employee to population ratios to prescribe the number of medical practitioners required to deliver services.  Medical practitioner numbers are influenced by the particular specialisation, acuity and complexity of the patient mix, the levels of supervision and support required for medical practitioners in training.
Notes:
Data excludes: Salaried Dental Officers, Agency Doctors, Locums, Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) the Office of Health Review, Peel Health Campus and Joondalup Health Campus.
Resignations are employee initiated terminations.
Terminations measure the total number of employees who have been dismissed from employment.
Staff on Casual, Fixed-Term, Permanent, Sessional, Full-Time and Part-Time employment arrangements are included in all data.
Information on unfilled positions, overseas trained doctors and graduates recruited was sourced from the Area Health Services.
