I refer to the Select Committee into Child Development Services Report of April 2024, and the Government's response including its acceptance or acceptance in-principle of 57 recommendations, and I ask: (a) what is the current status of implementation of each of the report’s recommendations (e.g. “implemented,” “in progress,” “not commenced,” “awaiting resourcing”); (b) are there any recommendations that have been fully implemented; (c) if yes to (b), which ones and when were they completed; (d) for those recommendations still "in progress", what are the key milestones yet to be achieved, and by what dates are they expected to be met; (e) who is responsible (by agency/department) for each recommendation’s implementation; and (f) will the Government or relevant departments provide a public progress report on the status of the recommendations?

All the 57 Report recommendations are either in planning or in progress. Implementation of the Reports interim recommendations has been prioritised to ensure delivery of a substantial uplift to the State’s Child Development Service capacity with the addition of over 100 FTE, opening of new CDS facilities, use of Saturday clinics, virtual care, implementing efficient service models and establishing contemporary monitoring and performance systems.
The WA Government remains committed to ensuring that all the Report recommendations are adequately addressed in a timely and effective manner, with clear accountability for delivery through the Department of Health, the Child and Adolescent Health Service, WA Country Health Service and Department of Education.
