(1) Why have a number of incident control vehicles destined for Wanneroo, Kwinana, Bunbury, Chidlow, Cockburn and other locations been fitted out but not sent to their respective regions? (2) When will the vehicles be made available for operational use?

(1) The Incident Control Vehicles are still progressing through the build stage and are not yet completed.
(2) A reference group comprising of volunteers and Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff was established to facilitate the design of Incident Control Vehicles  The first vehicle designed according to this model will be available for the commencement of the upcoming bushfire season and will be based in Belmont. Subsequent Incident Control Vehicles are in the build stage and will be rolled out in early 2014.
For the information of the House, the vehicles are scheduled for the following Local Government Areas:
Wanneroo
Rockingham
Bunbury
Broome
Mundaring
Serpentine-Jarrahdale
Swan
Narrogin (Town)
Manjimup
Geraldton
Karratha
Kalgoorlie-Boulder
Chittering
Some of these locations may be subject to change due to amendments in regional operational requirements during the build process.
