representing the Minister for Emergency Services:
I refer to the Department of Fire
and Emergency Services training school at Dundas Road, Forrestfield, and to the
fact that perfluorochemicals have been identified in the groundwater.
(1) When was the testing conducted?
(2) Is testing
conducted on a regular basis or was there a specific reason for this testing;
and, if so, what was the specific reason?
(3) What was the composition of the
PFCs found?
(4) What is the area circumscribed
for current testing of groundwater?

On behalf of the Minister for
Emergency Services, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Testing was conducted in 2015.
(2) The site at
547 Dundas Road, Forrestfield is a registered contaminated site, and LandCorp,
as project manager for the contamination, arranged for testing to be conducted
to update the results from 2009. Ongoing testing will be determined by the
Department of Environment Regulation.
(3) DFES has been
advised only that a range of concentrations detected in recent sampling at 547 Dundas
Road, Forrestfield exceeded relevant guidelines.
(4) DFES is aware of testing only at
547 Dundas Road, Forrestfield.
