The Department of Housing advises:
(a) The Tenant Support Program will introduce a new framework for the delivery of tenant support services that will bring together existing initiatives, including the Supported Housing Assistance Program (SHAP) and other regional and remote programs. The new framework will focus on outcomes rather than outputs and is consistent with the State Government's Delivering Community Services in Partnership Policy.
The following organisations currently deliver tenant support services for the Department of Housing:
Mission Australia
Centrecare
Anglicare
Ruah
Avon Youth Community and Family Service
Foundation Housing
Pilbara Community Legal Service
Geraldton Resource Centre
Mamabulanjin Aboriginal Corporation
Goldfields Indigenous Housing Organisation
Ngaanyatjarra Council (Aboriginal Corporation)
Pilbara Meta Maya Regional Aboriginal Corporation
Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation
Marninwarntikura Fitzroy Womens Resource & Legal Centre
Ngunga Womens Group Aboriginal Corporation
(b) The tender process is still underway. In the meantime existing service agreements will remain in place.
(c) The Request for Tender will not result in any new programs or services. Instead it will introduce a new framework for the delivery of tenant support services. However the Request for Tender did invite responses for tenancy support services to be delivered in locations where services are not currently available. A decision to expand into any new locations will be made as part of the tender process.
(d) The contracts will operate for three years with two one year options. As the tender process is still underway the total value of the contracts is not yet known.
(e) Contracts will be funded from within the existing Housing Authority budget.
