I thank the member for some notice of the question. (1) As at January 2005, before the transfer of Woodside to Kaleeya, there was a total of 442 beds between Fremantle and Woodside. (2) Today, between Fremantle and Kaleeya, that figure is 446 - approximately the same; a marginal increase. The breakdown was that at January 2005, Fremantle Hospital had 352 multi-day beds and 60 same-day beds, giving a total of 412; and at Woodside there were 22 multi-day beds and eight same-day beds, a total of 30. At October 2006, Fremantle Hospital had 319 multi-day beds and 60 same-day beds, and Kaleeya had 62 multi-day beds and five same-day beds. (3) The construction of the Fiona Stanley Hospital is due to commence in 2008, and 642 beds will be available on completion of stage one. (4) Fiona Stanley Hospital is planned to increase to 1 000-bed capacity by 2016-17.
