DEPARTMENT OF WATER — NORTH DANDALUP DAM
498. Mr D.J. KELLY to the Acting Minister
for Water:
I refer to the refusal by the
Department of Water to release water from North Dandalup Dam—water that
is essential to downstream landowners.
(1) Will the
acting minister consider releasing more water from North Dandalup Dam as
requested by the farmers?
(2) Does the
acting minister agree with the member for Murray–Wellington that the
department is acting like ecological vandals?

Can I take your guidance, Mr
Speaker, on an acting minister position in terms of the question I have been
asked? I would have thought it was more appropriate to ask the minister when
she returns, which is in the not too distant future, which would be appropriate
in this case. I am not sure that I am in a position to give as full and
comprehensive an answer to the question as the member would require.
The
SPEAKER : Thank you. Have you got a supplementary question? No. Member for
Bunbury.
Mr
D.J. Kelly : Mr Speaker, I was expecting an answer.
The
SPEAKER : The answer is finished.
Mr
D.J. KELLY : I have a supplementary question.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Okay, supplementary.
