EDUCATION — ENGAGEMENT
CENTRES — WITHDRAWAL STUDENTS
599. Hon SUE
ELLERY to the Minister for Education:
When
I ask this question of the Minister for Education, perhaps he could teach the
house how children in schools are taught to sneeze.
(1)
Can all 13 engagement centres now open take withdrawal students on site?
(2)
If no to (1), which engagement centres still have no placement area for
withdrawal students?

AnswerView source ↗

I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question, or at least how to
use a hanky.
(1) Currently, 11 of the 13 engagement centres
have the capacity to provide support for withdrawal students on site.
(2) The Department of Education is upgrading the
capacity of the Falkland Way Engagement Centre in Kinross and the Kimberley
Engagement Centre in Broome so that they are also able to provide this level of
support to schools and students.
