(1) Can the Minister confirm that prior to the Federal Election in 2013, the Federal Government committed funds towards the widening of the Kwinana Freeway between Roe Highway and Armadale Road? (2) If yes to (1), how much was the Federal Government's commitment? (3) What is the total cost of this project? (4) Has the current Federal Government indicated whether they will continue to provide funding for this project? (5) If yes to (4), is it the same level of funding? (6) If no to (4), what has happened to the funding that was committed by the Federal Government? (7) Can the Minister confirm that funding for this project came from savings on other Federally funded road projects? (8) If yes to (7), what were the projects and how much was saved on each project?

(1) There was no firm commitment from the former Labor Federal Government. In August 2013, immediately prior to the Federal election, the then Minister for Infrastructure and Transport advised the State that "I am prepared to consider these for funding under NBP, subject to the submission of detailed Project Proposal Reports." (2) The previous Labor Federal Minister's was considering a figure of $31.3m.
(3) $62.6m.
(4-5) Yes the current coalition Government is committed and not considering the project.
(6) Not applicable
(7) Funding for the project was included in the reallocation of funds from various other Nation Building 1 Program projects.
(8) The reallocation included funds from the Great Eastern Highway / Roe Highway interchange ($3.02m), Great Eastern Highway - Kooyong Road to Tonkin Highway project ($64.85m), Bunbury Port Access Road project ($13.06m), Leach Highway (High Street) project ($59.98m) and unallocated Perth Urban Transport and Freight Corridor works ($32m).
