HOME
INDEMNITY INSURANCE RISK-SHARING AGREEMENT — QBE INSURANCE
207. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Treasurer:
I refer to the fact that the state government has a
risk-sharing agreement with QBE Insurance in relation to home indemnity
insurance. Can the Treasurer confirm, as outlined in his own Government Mid-year Financial Projections
Statement released in December 1014, that as Treasurer, he agreed to the
extension of this risk-sharing agreement with QBE to underwrite home indemnity
insurance in Western Australia?

The home indemnity insurance—no, I did not. Home
indemnity insurance is actually managed by the Department of Housing and the
Department of Commerce. It is handled by a different minister, as the member
probably knows. The contract is just simply to manage the processing of that
home indemnity insurance. It is not a reinsurance issue.
