I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) A total of $300 000 has been allocated to the local learning and employment partnership pilot project based in Joondalup. (2) The local learning and employment partnership pilot project based in Joondalup covers the region of the cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo. All schools, both public and independent, within the region will be involved. In addition, the West Coast College of TAFE, Edith Cowan University, the Cities of Wanneroo and Joondalup and employment services and programs catering for the needs of youth in the region will have the opportunity to become involved in the pilot project. (3) The key responsibilities of a LLEP is to provide local input and encourage local ownership of policy, planning and delivery of services in its region to assist young people in the transition from school to further education, training and employment. The outcomes of each LLEP committee will be to establish a local information system for education, employment and training services within its region; develop a framework for local cooperation with education, employment and training providers; conduct an environmental scan of the region on education, training and employment service provision; develop a LLEP strategic plan based on the environmental scan that identifies the key priorities for young people in the region; and provide policy and planning advice to the department based on local experience. Each LLEP will be required to report on its progress on activities identified in the strategic plan on a quarterly basis.
