(1)-(6) The effects on health and safety of an employee working long shifts over extended periods is a serious issue across many industries in Western Australia including the mining industry. A review of this issue is part of Labour party policy. The Government is currently examining a range of options as to how this might be implemented including the terms of reference, timing etc. which will be decided upon at the appropriate time.
